Welcome to Biltong Direct! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Biltong Direct. We operate this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services in order to provide you with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). Our online store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
These terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these “Terms of Service” or “Terms”), describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.
By visiting, interacting with or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use or access our Services.
1. ACCESS AND ACCOUNT
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction and have consented to any minor dependents using the Services under your supervision.
When placing orders, you may be asked to provide certain details including your email address, billing, payment, and delivery information. You agree that all information provided is accurate, current and complete. You are responsible for safeguarding your account details and for all activity under your account.
2. OUR PRODUCTS
We make every effort to accurately display our products. However, actual colours, textures and appearance may vary due to differences in device displays.
Biltong and similar products are prepared fresh to order according to your stated preference. This can mean a short wait for the product to be at its optimal stage before dispatch.
All products should be eaten fresh we are not responsible for incorrectly stored products.
All descriptions of products are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to limit quantities or discontinue products at any time.
3. ORDERS AND PAYMENT
Online or phone payments by credit/debit card must be made prior to dispatch.
Orders are processed in rotation and we aim to dispatch within 48 hours of receipt if in stock, otherwise we will notify you of delays.
We reserve the right to amend our prices without prior notification.
Your order is not accepted until confirmed by us.
Purchases are for personal use only and not for resale.
4. PRICES AND BILLING
Prices may change without notice. The price charged will be the one displayed at the time you place your order. Prices include VAT where applicable but exclude delivery charges unless stated otherwise.
You agree to keep your payment details current and confirm you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
5. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Postal Delivery – Orders are packed with care. You will be notified by email on dispatch. If you are not home to receive delivery, you must collect from the depot within 24 hours as we cannot accept responsibility for spoilage caused by delays in collection.
Courier Delivery – Delivery is typically the next day after dispatch, up to 8pm. If you are unavailable, redelivery or redirection costs and spoilage from delays will be charged to you.
We recommend providing a delivery address where someone will be available to receive the order.
Once products are handed to the carrier, risk of loss passes to you. We are not responsible for delays outside our control.
6. RETURNS AND COMPLAINTS
If you are dissatisfied with any product, contact us within 24 hours of receipt with full details and photographs if possible.
We will respond within 24 hours and replace faulty products within 14 days.
Return costs are the responsibility of the customer unless we have specifically requested the return.
Claims for shortages must also be made within 24 hours.
Claims made after these timeframes may not be considered.
7. PRIVACY
We are committed to protecting your privacy and comply with the UK Data Protection Act and UK GDPR. The information we collect is used only to process your order and will not be passed to third parties except as required to fulfil your order (e.g., delivery services).
We do not store credit card details. You have the right to refuse further marketing contact by email or telephone.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on our site – including text, images, logos and designs – is owned by Biltong Direct or its licensors and may not be copied, distributed or used without prior written consent.
9. RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Biltong Direct is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Biltong Direct. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Biltong Direct, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Biltong Direct.
10. PROHIBITED USES
You may not use the Services for unlawful purposes, to violate rights, transmit viruses, engage in fraud, or interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or products purchased. This does not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
13. CHANGES TO TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted will be deemed acceptance.
